Course contents
The Chapter 0: Welcome introduces our trainer and company walterconsulting. In Chapter 1: Motivation several real-life examples are explained and what happens in case functional safety fails. It is also mentioned why a systematic development approach in accordance with safety standards is important. The Chapter 2: Functional Safety describes historical aspects, terms and definitions (e.g. what is functional safety? E/E-systems, risk, risk reduction, ASIL, etc.). Also legal aspects are described in Chapter 2. The Chapter 3: ISO 26262 includes a detailed description of the ISO 26262 sections 2-9.
In our Exercises you learn:
- How to perform a Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment
- How to create the Functional Safety Concept (writing requirements and development of the preliminary architecture)
- How to create the Technical Safety Concept (writing technical safety requirements and development of the system architectural design)
- How to calculate Hardware Metrics (Single Point Fault Metric, Latent Fault Metric, Probabilistic Metric of random Hardware Failures, ASIL determination)
- How to write software safety requirements and create the software architectural design
Description
The complexity and number of electrical and/or electronical systems (E/E-systems) in vehicles is steadily increasing. A result is an increase in product liability cases. Therefore it is mandatory to develop in accordance with relevant functional safety standards. The training introduces Functional Safety based on ISO 26262.
